A technical degree should not be needed to gain usable knowledge from an article or book.

Jargon is a technical term for industry specific language. Jargon confuses people who are looking for an overview of a subject or who are learning a new subject. I go out of my way to use plain every day English in my writing. Think of the old saying from the early days of computers. "Garbage in, Garbage out."

My goal is communication, I want to impress you with my message, not with my ability to pile "$10 dollar" words on top of each other.
